Heavy solids take a heavy toll on our pumping equipment.  They wear out our pumps and impellers 3 to 10 times faster than normal effluent.  Pictured below is one of our impellers after 15 million gallons in a lagoon that had heavy solids and sand.

How fast heavy solids will wear out a pump depend upon the % of solids in effluent, amount of sand in lagoon and the number of gallons being pumped.
