While pumping a lagoon is certainly the most cost effective way to transport a manure slurry to the field there are some situations where excavating a lagoon is the only way to go.
This could be a dewatered lagoon were there is no addtional water that can reconstitue the solids into a slurry or it could be a municipal lagoon that is dewatered and too small to pump.
Lagoon Pumping dewaters the lagoon, then starts excavating the solids into water tight Kuhn side slingers. This slurry is then transported to an agriculture field and surface spread on top of the ground. The farmer or producer would then need to disc the solids into the ground within 24 hours of applicaiton.
We use a skid steer with a squeege to push the solids from the middle of the lagoon to the area in which the long reach excavator is removing the solids.
